Spotlight on Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

Opened by Laurence Olivier in 1946, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School is recognised as one of the UK’s leading conservatoire drama schools, training students in a professional environment for careers in the arts and entertainment industry.

Operating on three specialist teaching sites and performing in the major producing theatre venues in Bristol, Bristol Old Vic Theatre School students are trained to the highest standards for direct entry into work in theatre, film and radio drama. The School presents over 200 public performances each year in Bristol and across the West Country.

Alumni of the School include Oscar winners Olivia Colman, Sir Daniel Day-Lewis and Jeremy Irons, along with countless other household names such as Sir Patrick Stewart, Naomie Harris, Gene Wilder, Josh O’Connor and Erin Doherty.

Alumni working across the creative and production sides of the industry include Erica Whyman, the Deputy Artistic Director of the RSC; the Tony Award-winning designer Bob Crowley; and Ita O'Brien, the leading intimacy director of BBC's I May Destroy You and Netflix's Sex Education.

Fund raising

Corrigan have been providing audit services to BOVTS since 2016, aiming to deliver a robust, expert audit at a price which is attractive for a funding-constrained business. We have invested time in understanding the funding issues so that our audit findings and guidance have been relevant and constructive for the trustees. And of course, we strive to do so in a professional and personable way.

"The team at Corrigan are great to work with, always professional and courteous, and go the extra mile to ensure our audit is completed to our timescales."David Lawton, Finance Director at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School
"Corrigan are approachable, knowledgeable, and have always kept the context of our charitable status in mind at all times. We would highly recommend them."Fiona Francombe, Principal & CEO at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School

BOVTS is one of many charities and not for profit organisations for which Corrigan provides audit and other services. We are committed to this aspect of our business and aim to provide a responsive and value for money service grounded in our knowledge of the sector and our desire to understand and meet the needs of each client.
