Spotlight on Sawday's

Sawday's is an award-winning travel company, founded in Bristol over twenty five years ago to seek out and celebrate independent places to stay with warmth and soul. Since their early days, Sawday's has been a client of Corrigan.

The company has grown from a small team of travel publishers to a sophisticated employee-owned digital business with upwards of 50 staff. Throughout that transformation, Corrigan has supported the company by providing timely, appropriate advice on tax, accounting and general commercial issues.

 

In particular, Corrigan advised the company through its transition to employee ownership, acting as an independent adviser to the board and balancing the interests of shareholders, employees and other stakeholders. The company now employs an experienced finance director, but in the early stages Corrigan assisted a succession of bookkeepers and enabling the company to scale up and maintain sound financial control over the business.

These days, Corrigan provide an important role in the governance process of an employee owned company, acting as an independent accounting and tax advisor and compiling year end statutory accounts and Corporation Tax returns.
